A Mediterranean spaghetti puttanesca with Pasta Zara Puttanesca sauce and Bragagnolo Spaghetti, ready in about 15 minutes.

Pasta Zara Puttanesca sauce brings together tomato, capers, olives, garlic and chilli. Bragagnolo Spaghetti keeps the dish classic, lively and balanced.

Ingredients

  • 1 jar Pasta Zara Puttanesca sauce 280 g
  • 250 g Bragagnolo Spaghetti pasta
  • about 100 ml pasta cooking water
  • fresh parsley
  • parmesan, if desired
  • a little olive oil, if desired

Method

  1. Cook Bragagnolo Spaghetti al dente according to the package instructions. Reserve about 100 ml of pasta cooking water before draining.
  2. Warm the whole jar of Pasta Zara Puttanesca sauce in a pan.
  3. Add the spaghetti to the sauce. Add a small splash of pasta cooking water and mix gently.
  4. Finish the pasta in the pan until the sauce and pasta form a juicy, even dish.
  5. Serve with parsley, parmesan if desired and a little olive oil.

Make it your own

Add drained tuna at the very end and warm it gently if you want a more filling puttanesca. Add extra capers and olives sparingly because the sauce already has a strong Mediterranean flavour.

Pasta and sauce

Spaghetti is a natural match for puttanesca because long pasta works well with clear tomato-based Mediterranean sauces. Finishing it in the pan keeps the dish unified without making it heavy.
